About the Artist
About the Artist
Eric Huson, b. 1930.
Born in 1930, Huson studied at the Camberwell School of Art from 1945 to 1947 where he was taught by John Minton and William Townsend. Their influence is present within his views of London, with the ruinous and derelict structures of Bermondsey and Camberwell mirroring the bombed-out houses in Minton’s wartime city scenes.
A number of Huson’s works are held in the Government Art Collection - they are, however, pastoral scenes of Wilshire, a far cry from his studies of London from the early 1960s.
